Asia Pacific ICT Alliance is organising APICTA since 2001. The alliance represents the national ICT organisations of Asian member countries and their respective economy to build and enhance a mutually cooperative network to promote ICT in the region. It also improves technology innovations, capability and adoption, and encourage the development of national ICT solutions for the global market. The members follow the framework of cooperation, identifying how member-economies can work together in support of the awards program as well as other programs that foster development and growth of the ICT industry in the region.

Also, Macao, Malaysia, Myanmar, Pakistan, People Republic of China, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam. However one of the biggest ICT country of the region India is not part of the awards.

The APICTA members take turns in hosting the annual awards program that is won through a bidding process. Pakistan has never hosted the event in its 14 years of history, but it has consistently won awards and promoted a positive image of a progressive nation.
